Arrow Of God By Chinua Achebe
Chinua Achebe in his preface to this revised edition…. Arrow of God.. is the novel which i am most likely to becaught sitting down to read again. On account of that i have also become aware of certain structural weakness in it which i now take the opportunity of a new edition to remove.
Arrow of God is primarily a story of village life, centering on the struggle for authority of Ezeulu, chief of priest of Ulu, the traditional god of his Umuaro People, against both rivals in his own tribe and also district officers and Christian missionaries. And through this combination of concentration and authenticity the novel get it power. Mr Achebe’s evocation of atmosphere is both fascinating and convincing.
